Unique Cuisine

By Alastair Baird

  • Madameek Restaurant, with locations in Petawawa and in downtown Pembroke, features the best Lebanese food in the Ottawa Valley. Take-out with limited dine-in space but great street-side space in Petawawa with solar chargers in the umbrellas.
  • Sumo Sushi in downtown Pembroke is popular with diners from across the Ottawa Valley, and has become a destination for tourists and visitors as well.
  • The Shed on Petawawa Boulevard is a seasonal east coast style fast-food truck for those on the go. It’s known for its authentic Newfie fries and great-tasting Donairs.
  • Negi Indian Cuisine in Arnprior on Madawaska Boulevard is a cozy spot with wonderful naan bread, baked on the spot in their copper oven, and a broad selection of traditional Indian foods.
  • Odi’s Kingburger drive-in located in the west end of Renfrew on Highway 60 features old style handmade burgers and the best milkshakes you could ever imagine.
  • The Nook Creperie in downtown Pembroke features crepes- of all things- both savoury and sweet, along with a good selection of other menu items.
  • The Granary in downtown Eganville features truly authentic schnitzel and a broad selection of other items in a warm and friendly timber frame building.
